Saturday I fell from my horse during practice... not a good thing to do. Nothing broken, but I was very stiff and not mobile on sunday. So that was an ideal way to finish a submarine in 1 day. My girlfriend was not to happy that I spend more time with the creation of my submarine than with her on sunday. I'll have to make it up this week. Anyway I could not really move a lot so it was fun working on this other AFV Club kit. I've to say, the kit itself was very dissapointing... the small plastic parts almost all broke while cutting them out of the plastic frame. Luckely some parts could be saved from spare PE material from other submarines. The VII D U-Boat is a mine laying submarine. They where not very often used, only a few have seen action during WW2. The most important was U-218, which sunk several ships and the mines it layed also sunk a few ships. The history can be read on: www.argomodelships.com/Poppe_Model_Ships/Submarines/Pages/U-Boat_VII_D_%28U-218%29.htmlThe most interesting part of the U-218 was the painting scheme. Enjoy the pics. PS. for those wondering, I'm all ok now and will be horseriding this week ;D L1090186 by indici, on Flickr L1090193 by indici, on Flickr L1090194 by indici, on Flickr Flickr test - a big image: L1090186 by indici, on Flickr
